Preview: Miracles are used in many ways and for many reasons throughout the Bible to promote God’s power and His Divine Word.


Scripture Reading: Genesis 17:15-21.

Memory Verse: Psalm 78:16.

1. What is the purpose of miracles? Exodus 4:5, Exodus 4:8-9.
2. Were there miracles foretold? What were they? Genesis 18:10, Genesis 18:14, Exodus 8:21.
3. What were some miraculous deaths by fire? Leviticus 10:1-2, Numbers 11:1-3, Numbers 16:35.
Note: God performed many miracles by fire, to teach, to punish, to protect, and to manifest His presence.
4. Discuss one of the miraculous protections from fire. Daniel 3:20-27.
5. How was God’s presence manifested by fire? Exodus 3:2-3, Exodus 19:18, Nehemiah 9:12, Nehemiah 9:19.
6. How miraculous was the sacrificial fire? I Kings 18:27-38.
Note: God also performed miracles by water to show His power and presence to man.
7. What was the miracle of the Red Sea? Exodus 14:21-31.
8. What was the miracle of the deluge? Genesis 7:11-20.
9. How was water miraculously supplied to the people? Numbers 20:8-11.
10. Who made the waters undrinkable? Exodus 7:19-20, Exodus 7:24.
